Pakistan: 8 children among 10 dead in two days as rain batters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa



KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA: Ten folks have been killed and twelve sustained accidents in rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the previous two days, the Provincial Catastrophe Administration Authority (PDMA) stated on Sunday, The Nation reported.
PDMA spokesperson Anwar Shahzad confirmed the casualties and added that the deceased comprised eight youngsters and two ladies whereas the injured included 9 youngsters, two ladies and a person.
The spokesperson added that in keeping with experiences obtained till Saturday evening, 27 homes have been broken in rain and hailstorm-related incidents in KP. Reduction operations have been underneath means within the affected areas, he stated, as per The Nation.
A quick report issued by the PDMA at 11:30 pm on Saturday evening acknowledged that the casualties occurred in varied roof and home collapse incidents in Shangla, Bannu, Bajaur, Peshawar, Nowshera, and Mansehra.
In keeping with The Nation, “three homes have been absolutely broken, whereas 24 have been partially broken within the above areas in addition to in Mohmand, Mardan, North Waziristan, Swat and Higher Dir,” the report added.
Whereas talking to the media, Harban Tehsil chairman Asadullah Quraishi stated that 19 cattle had perished in rain-triggered flash flood incidents as 15 cattle pens have been washed away.
The province has been experiencing heavy rainfall since Friday.
On Saturday evening, extreme downpours accompanied by hailstorms affected varied areas, resulting in the lack of livestock, together with a cattle pen in Higher Kohistan’s Harban locality, and inflicting injury to quite a few homes.
