DUBAI: Iran‘s Supreme Chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Saturday the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah can be avenged and his path in combating Israel can be continued by different militants.
“(Nasrallah) was not a person. He was a path and a faculty of thought and the trail can be continued,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated in a press release learn on state tv wherein he introduced 5 days of mourning in Iran.
“The blood of the martyr shall not go unavenged,” he stated.
Khamenei, in an earlier assertion issued after the Israeli military stated it had killed Nasrallah, stated: “The destiny of this area can be decided by the forces of resistance, with Hezbollah on the forefront,” state media reported. After Hezbollah confirmed Nasrallah’s demise, Iranian media reported that Common Abbas Nilforoushan, a deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, had died “subsequent to Nasrallah” within the Israeli strikes on south Beirut on Friday.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian blamed Nasrallah’s killing partly on the USA, which has lengthy provided Israel with superior weapons.
